If you are an African and you love africa you need to see beyond politics and see the real need of Africans, and I think this should be a place to deal with the real issues we face like Africans, and forget about things that wested our time for long. We need to stop westing our time and accept realities. It might take us a long time to get were others are, but we will get there. I like Obama saying "YES WE CAN" it's time for us to build Africa, and stop westing our time in usless politics,,,what happed in Congo for last 10 years wheather it's right or wrong has nothing to do with where we want to go like Africans, and the failure of aids in Africa, so it's sad if we always decide to thing backward instead of thinking forward; Instead of spending much time seeking for real solution to our problems we spend time digging useless informations, and debating our useless past mistakes. It's time for us to go foward and I congratulate Mr President Paul Kagame for his remarkable efforts and I congratulate all Africans who are doing their best to make our continent the responsible and respectful continent.

Paul Kagame is using Dambisa Moyo to cover up the real reason why aid is being suspended to his country, the illegal war inside Congo which he has been waging for the last 10 years. Dambisa Moyo knows this and should openly discuss this fact.

If Africa continues to depend on Aid from the west and other donors we will never grow-up, all we need is proper governance and management of resources, the whole world is reaping from Africa's resources while her people suffer ,we need to change and save ourselves.

@Phillip,

Thank you for your concern, indeed it is people like you who are true friends of Africa.

We have never argued against humanitarian AID even though it also does get squandered occasionally in the African context. It is Economic AID we are against.

Please see the following statement and videos to clarify our argument. http://johnkaranja.com/2009/03/15/dambisa-moyos-dead-aid-the-true-story-of-economic-aid-to-africa/

We will be updating the website with an Action plan.

If you want to help Africans, support a business venture at http://www.kiva.org and urge all your friends to do so.

This is more of an "anti-movement" than a "movement." Rather than urging people for inaction, you should be explaining how people in the West can better help end poverty and suffering in Africa. If it is not by giving money to aid organizations, explain where that money would be better spent. By simply urging inaction, you are encouraging us to wash our hands of our responsibility of helping those in need, which does nothing to help solve short-term or long-term problems in Africa. I understand that giving money to aid organizations does not help long-term problems, but I believe that saving a few thousand people of dying from malaria in Malawi cannot hurt things. I believe that ordinary citizens in countries like Malawi, where the average daily income is little more than 50 cents, would love to get a job with a hedge fund. But these people also would like to drink clean water and have food to eat. Seeing as I cannot start a hedge fund in Malawi, my next best option is to give them these basic supplies until their economic situation improves. Simply waiting for the situation to improve without helping them in the short-term is not a solution to poverty.
